NEW DELHI: Even though the Covid death toll is inching closer to the 10,000-mark, the government on Tuesday asserted that the country’s fight against the Coronavirus has been “effective” and that India is one of the countries that has had the lowest number of casualties. The recovery rate has increased to 52.47 per cent.
India, on Tuesday, registered 10,667 new COVID-19 cases for the fifth day in a row pushing the total tally to 3,43,091, while the death toll rose to 9,900 with 380 new fatalities. The number of active cases stands at 1,53,178, while 1,80,013 people have recovered.
