NEW DELHI: The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Tuesday warned against complacency amid the waning Covid second wave, referring to the “frightening” images of crowded hill stations, with people rushing to places like Manali, Kullu, Shimla and Dharamsala to beat the heat.
The government also cautioned that people visiting the hill stations and markets without following COVID-19-appropriate behaviour can nullify the gains made in the management of the pandemic so far.
Stressing that the pandemic was not yet over, an official described the images of large numbers of people thronging popular hill stations as “frightening”.
