Pc Denies Having Sex With Alleged Rape Victim

A Serving Greater Manchester Police officer has disputed claims that he was having a secret sexual relationship with an alleged rape victim.

Pc Simon Rose is on trial at Liverpool Crown Court where he denies misconduct in a public office and also attempting to pervert the course of justice.

A jury has heard that he met the vulnerable single mum-of-three after calling round as a specially trained officer to deal with her report of rape by two strangers who had taken her off in a car.

They formed a friendship which it is claimed became a sexual relationship and which he kept ‘under the radar’ and he repeatedly reminded her to delete their text conversations.

Seven years later by coincidence a search warrant was issued for her home and he allegedly tried to dissuade his colleagues from searching it.
