Statistics show there have been 107 reported attacks in the past 12 months, Transport for Greater Manchester has revealed, equivalent to almost nine a month.
The startling data highlights Stockport as a hot-spot area, with 30 attacks on buses reported.
Windows on three double-deckers were smashed on Thursday night in Salford, Wigan and Manchester, and toilets at Altrincham and Bury interchange were also vandalised, TfGM has revealed.
And last Friday night a brick being was thrown through a train window in Clifton, Salford - an attack which put the driver in hospital.
The data also shows Metrolink trams have also been hit by missiles more than 150 times over the same period.
