MAGUIRE: THE BOYS HAVE IMPROVED STACKS FROM OUR CROKES HUMILIATION

We have all raised the BARR

IF Kerry are the yardstick for Cork football, the improvement of St Finbarr's from their last Munster campaign has been spectacular.

After securing a first county title in 33 years in 2018, they found themselves in a Munster semi-final against Dr Crokes.

It was a chastening afternoon as they suffered a humiliating 5-20 to 1-11 drubbing in Killarney, with all Crokes' 25 scores coming from play.

Little wonder then the Barrs wouldn't entertain the notion of a coin toss for home venue ahead of last Sunday's Munster final against Austin Stacks, which could have landed them with a trip to Tralee.

În the neutral surroundings of Semple Stadium, they scored a wellmerited two-point win which brought their first provincial crown in 35 years.
