The 2031 men's and 2033 women's tournaments will be staged in the USA, World Rugby confirmed in Dublin yesterday.
England will host the women's showpiece in 2025 and Australia the men's in 2027 and women's in 2029.
The move to take the tournament Stateside is a major statement of intent by World Rugby, who are desperate to tap into the American market.
