'Truly Shocking' Evidence Of War Crimes In Bucha

EAMON Gilmore visited mass graves in Ukraine yesterday containing children under two years of age in what he described as "truly shocking" evidence of war crimes.

The EU Special Representative for Human Rights said many of the bodies had been shot through the eye, suggesting they were used as sniper targets.

The former Tanaiste and Labour leader added that what he saw in the town of Bucha "was evidence of civilian life being targeted".

He added: "These were not military targets. This was an attack on civilians. These are war crimes and there has to be accountability for it."

The mass grave he visited shockingly contained up to 116 bodies with the youngest person who was buried there was just one year and seven months old.
