SHOCK AS CHARITY CHIEF IS FOUND DEAD AT HOME

THE founder and former chief executive of Bothar was found dead in his home yesterday in what was described as a “personal tragedy”.

It came after reports the Limerick-based charity was investigating financial transactions in which he was involved.

Peter Ireton, who would have been 69 next week, was discovered in the back garden of his home in Castletroy at around 8 am.

His body was taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post-mortem to be carried out.
