Vaccine timeline to be announced for all age groups

THE Government will reveal a timeline next week telling all age groups when they can expect their first Covid jab, the Health Minister said.

And Stephen Donnelly also wants to see pharmacists being incorporated into the rollout of the vaccine.

Meanwhile, Tanaiste Leo Varadkar revealed it is hoped to offer people in their 40s appointments by the end of the month, and everyone by end of June.

The Fine Gael leader told the parliamentary party meeting last night the epidemiological situation continues to improve despite the reopening of the economy and society.

Sources revealed Mr Varadkar said the State hopes to reach a stage when between 300,000 and 400,000 vaccines can be administered per week.
