Grand-niece says he'd want right conditions

MICHAEL COLLINS WOULD SUPPORT UNITED IRELAND

THE grand-niece of Michael Collins said the revolutionary would have supported a united Ireland but conditions must be right in order to achieve it.

Former Fine Gael TD Nora Owen was speaking yesterday ahead of today's centenary of the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty.

She said: “One thing Michael Collins always showed was great pragmatism, he took each situation as it arose and he made pragmatic decisions.
