TOUGH BREAK Lesley Roy was due to represent Ireland
EUROVISION hopeful Lesley Roy revealed how overcoming depression after being dropped by a record label helped her deal with missing out on the competition this year.
The Dubliner, who is in lockdown in her home in New York, was set to represent Ireland tomorrow night in Rotterdam with song The Story Of My Life.
But with Covid-19 calling a halt to the show for the first time in its history, her dreams were short lived and she’ll instead be taking part in RTE’s tribute show Euro vision : Europe Shine A Light.
Lesley said: “As much as I’m trying to hold up the flag and be as strong as I can, at the end of the day, when social media is turned off, and the show is over it’s still very upsetting.
