Jail For Former Soccer Star Caught With €2.7m Heroin

A FORMER professional footballer who was caught moving over €2.7million of heroin has been jailed for four years.

Keith Quinn, 32, received a package containing the drugs at work in an industrial estate in West Dublin.

Soon afterwards he met with another man and then delivered it to a nearby address.

Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard that Quinn, who previously played for Sheffield United and several League of Ireland clubs, had “a very significant gambling problem” and that there was “a hold over him” due to debts he had accrued.
