A MUM whose crumbling, micaridden house is covered in damp and mould said she is losing her hair over fears for her family's health.
Claire McDaid and her husband Greg spotted pattern-cracking on the €250,000 house they bought together about nine years ago and now large chunks are falling off their walls.
They purchased their four-bedroom home outside Buncrana, Co Donegal, in 2006 and since then the family's lives have been turned upside down.
Claire - who has two children Darrien, 15, and 13-year-old Oran - said: “I'm not sleeping and I know there are lots of people who aren't sleeping.
I've been to the doctor and she prescribed an anti-anxiety, anti-depressant but I haven't taken it because I don't want to take it.
And the other thing which is new is that my hair is falling out and it's devastating
I have long, curly, ginger hair and everybody knows who I am with this big mane of hair and I have lost at least half of my hair.
