A Tragic couple were killed in an early morning “inferno” which gutted their rural home.
Joey Tumulty and Nuala Kenny were in their mid-40s and both had children from previous relationships.
They died when a blaze broke out yesterday in the property at Gurth near Rooty Cross in Co Roscommon.
A relative of Mr Tumulty, who witnessed the fire, described it as “an inferno” that nobody could have survived.
He also revealed his own partner made a desperate attempt to ring Mr Tumulty to warn him about the flames – but he did not answer.
The man said he saw the blaze at 2am, adding: “I went to the window to turn off the television and I could see this enormous flame, I really mean shocking.
