TAXPAYERS are dishing out €5,000 a day so fat cat TDs can eat and drink in a restaurant in the national convention centre.

And this is before the politician's avail of subsidised meals that see hot main courses served up by chefs for just €6 all through the lockdown.

The rest of the country is forced to get takeaways or cook at home every evening during the latest restrictions, with all restaurants shuttered by order of the Government.

However, one in the convention centre is open on the days the politicians come downtown to fill the auditorium to debate the issues of the day.

The country’s elected elite can sit down at socially-distanced tables – with plates and cutlery – on those days thanks to our taxes.
