Getting Your Mind Out Of The Clutter

Ireland’s answer to Marie Kondo reveals why decluttering your home will unlock your potential and clear your mind – saving you a fortune too.

Cork woman Vera Keohane set up Enjoy Your Home after qualifying as a tidying consultant with Kondo.

Here the former midwife reveals why decluttering our physical world will help bring us calm during these tough times.

Vera, 52, told the Irish Mirror: “We do see a shift in our mental health, our internal and external worlds are mirrors of each other.

“If you change one you’ll be completely amazed that the other one will follow.

“Once you sort out the physical aspect of your life, the mental clarity will begin to flow.

“Every other area of your life will fall into place, you reduce your cleaning time as your house is tidy all the time.

“Plus you reduce your consumer spend as you only buy what you need as you’re completely conscious of what you’re bringing into your home.

“You have more time to spend with family and you live in the moment more.”

Vera flew to New York to train with Marie and discovered that the big declutter only happens once and on completion your life is transformed.

She said: “It causes a shift in your mindset and a change in your habits.

“Marie declutters from the heart rather than the head, it’s based on one simple question, ‘Does this bring me joy?’
