Jondy Ward was arrested with his seven crew on the vessel Cornelis Gert Jan off the Normandy coast last week by the French Maritime Gendarmerie.He is accused of fishing without a licence in French territorial waters and remains in custody.Ward, from Burtonport, Co Donegal, and his co-accused are in legal limbo after a judge quashed the charges and a demand for &euro;125,000 only for French authorities to appeal the decision.He is expected to appear before a court in Rouen today when a judge is due to determine under what conditions the vessel will be released.Family spokesman Cllr Micheal Choilm Mac Giolla Easbuig said: &ldquo;He is keeping well, his spirits are high and he is in contact with his family but obviously he is waiting to see what happens at court&rdquo;Yesterday, UK Environment Minister George Eustice said the vessel had been freed by France.
