THE Taoiseach has pleaded with the public to get their booster vaccine as he revealed tens of thousands of people are not showing up for appointments.
Micheal Martin expressed concern there is a lack of urgency among people in getting their third shot.
It comes as a significant decision” is due on vaccines for children aged five to 11 to begin in the New Year.
Mr Martin told the Dail that out of 208,000 booster jab appointments in the week commencing November 22, only 80,000 showed up.
And despite 180,000 appointments last week, only about 90,000 took up their slot.
