Hundreds of thousands of child flu vaccines were binned last week after the HSE’s batch of nasal sprays ran out of date.
Health authorities are being slammed for “a failure of communication” leading to only one-third of the 600,000 doses ordered making their way to our children.
The HSE has confirmed to the Irish Mirror only 215,000 nasal sprays had been registered as being administered up to January 6.
They added an expiry date of January 13 and 14 is on vials, making them now unfit for use.
Sinn Fein health spokesman David Cullinane said this should serve as an important lesson to the Government ahead of their vaccination of the nation with the Covid jab in the coming months.
