Normality was restored for India at the hockey men's junior World Cup. After the unexpected 4-5 loss to France in the opener on Wednesday, the Vivek Sagar Prasad-led squad shed their early tournament jitters to win and keep alive chances of reaching the knockouts.

India hammered 13 goals past Canada, conceding one, in their Pool B contest on a day when records tumbled with a downpour of goals at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

An incredible 70 goals were scored in five games on Thursday.

History was made when in the morning when 2005 champions Argentina beat Egypt 14-0 to set the record for most goals in a match and the biggest margin of victory in the history of the tournament, the previous one being held by India when they beat Singapore 13-0 in the 1982 edition in Kuala Lumpur.
