NEW DELHI: India's second largest telecom services provider Bharti Airtel reported a 26% sequential drop in consolidated net profit to ₹29.6 crore in the quarter ended December 31, 2021 from ₹1,134 crore in Septemberended quarter, even as consolidated revenues rose 5.4% to *29,866 crore from ₹28,326 crore in the same comparison period.
As per its results issued on Tuesday, the consolidated net income was 2.8% lower than ₹853.6 crore reported in the quarter-ended December 2020, while revenue rose 12.6% compared to ₹26,517.8 crore in the same period.
Airtel's profit numbers missed Bloomberg analysts estimate of ₹928 crore, but revenues numbers were ahead of estimated ₹29,370 crore. To be sure, Airtel's financial performance was better than what many brokerages estimated, as they expected the telco to report an even lower profit.
