The accused, the officials said, were involved in all three IED explosions since May 6 on a street leading to the Golden Temple in which one person sustained injuries. They have been booked under provisions of The Explosives Act, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Indian Penal Code, the officials added.
The arrested people were identified as Azad Veer Singh (36) of Wadala Kala village in Baba Bakala subdivision, Saheb Singh (35) of Gate Hakima area, Dharminder Singh (34) and Harjit Singh (33), both residents of 88-Feet Road area in Amritsar, and Amrik Singh (26) of Gurdaspur. Police said they recovered 1.1kg of explosives normally used in firecrackers, and radical literature from them.
