India On Road To Recovery As Cases Stay Below 30,000

NEW DELHI

Daily new cases of coronavirus in India continued to remain below 30,000 with the country having registered 27,176 cases, pushing the total COVID-19 cases so far to 3,33,16,755, while 284 new fatalities were recorded in the last 24 hours on Wednesday.

India witnessed a marginal spike in new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday after a few days of continued decline in daily cases.

A total of 25,404 new cases were registered on Tuesday, 27,254 on Monday and 28,591 on Sunday, according to the Union Health Ministry.

With 284 new fatalities registered in the last 24 hours, the country’s total COVID death toll increased to 4,43 497. The fatality rate has remained at 1.33 per cent for the last few days.

The active case count has declined to 3,51,087, which comprises 1.05 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.62 per cent, the ministry said.

A reduction of 11,120 cases has been recorded in the active Covid-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.
