In a historic move, British airline Virgin Atlantic’s first flight landed in Islamabad on Friday morning, commencing its operations in Pakistan.
The flight that landed in Islamabad took off from Manchester Airport.

The flight was carrying 208 passengers from Manchester to Islamabad. Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for overseas Pakistanis Zulfikar Bukhari along with British High Commissioner Christian Turner welcomed Virgin Airlines staff and its passengers at Islamabad International Airport.
Speaking on the occasion, Bukhari said the revival of international airlines will boost trade and tourism in the country. He said After British Airlines, Virgin Airlines is the second largest airline in the UK to launch a series of flights to Pakistan. This will further enhance the scope of relations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
