The 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was due before Bromley magistrates over the killing of 15-year-old Zaian Aimable-Lina in an assault in Ashburton Park in Croydon on December 30. He was arrested the following day and charged last night.
Meanwhile, the 16-year-old was appearing at Ealing youth court with the murder of another 16-year-old in Yiewsley, Hillingdon, in an attack at the Philpotts Farm Open Space, also on December 30.
The two killings took the total number of teenage homicides in London during 2021 to a record high of 30, one above the previous peak of 29, in a depressing milestone for the capital which was marked by statements of remorse from the Met and Mayor Sadiq Khan.
