Human remains found in hunt for fiancé suspected of killing blogger

POLICE searching for the missing fiancé of murdered US travel blogger Gabby Petito have found what are believed to be human remains.

Brian Laundrie, 23, a person of interest in the killing of Ms Petito, went missing five weeks ago after returning from a cross-country trip without her.

Police found the remains in an alligator-infested Florida swamp near items believed to belong to Mr Laundrie including a backpack and notebook.

At a news conference FBI special agent Michael McPherson confirmed that investigators had discovered “what appears to be human remains” during a search of the Carlton Reserve area.
