Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has called for unity among Manchester United fans following the storming of Old Trafford.

United boss Solskjaer said supporters had a right to protest against the Glazers, the club’s despised owners, but condemned the violent scenes on Sunday.

The Liverpool game was called off following a pitch invasion, while six police officers were left injured.

Solskjaer admitted he was in a “difficult” position, given his allegiance with the supporters and his relationship with his employers.

But the Norwegian did promise disillusioned fans there’ll be better communication from the Floridabased Glazers amid the fallout.

“I’m hopeful that, in time, we can unite,” said Solskjaer.

“Frictions and challenges are sometimes good, sometimes it can move things forward.
