Under normal circumstances, a point against the Clarets might be considered a disappointing result for a side with genuine hopes of making the Champions League.
But given the injuries and the fact Burnley summoned arguably their best performance of the season, this was a decent result.
Matej Vydra’s opener had put the home side ahead after just three minutes and on another night they might have been out of sight by the time the final whistle blew.
But Iheanacho’s superb volley levelled matters and Schmeichel kept Burnley at bay with a series of blocks.
The best of them saw the Dane stop a near perfectly-placed header from Chris Wood early in the second half.
“There are moments when it looks like it is going to be a goal and he pulls off a save,” said boss Brendan Rodgers of his goalkeeper. “He always produces for us.
