Brown can’t believe he’s game’s elder statesman

Kevin Brown wants to keep springing surprises after getting his own shock accolade.

The 36-year-old Salford half-back was stunned to discover he’s now Super League’s oldest player.

He said: “I think there are a few players hiding their birth certificates because I don’t look the oldest.

“It was a funny feeling when I found out because I thought ‘bloody hell how have I ended up here?’”

But Brown, who will turn 37 before the end of the season, is determined to prove he can still slug it out with the best.
