Piers Morgan sparked fury by cheekily claiming gymnast Simone Biles’ return to the Olympics was down to him.
The TV host said the four-time gold medallist was following his advice to compete in today’s balance beam final.
He tore into the 24-year-old American – telling her to knuckle down and battle through her woes – after she pulled out of the team competition in Tokyo to protect her mental wellbeing.
Morgan, 56, accused her of letting down her US team mates – and was blasted on social media. But unrepentant Piers then tagged the gymnast in a message on Twitter alongside a photograph of them together.
