FLYTIPPERS were caught redhanded as they tried to get away - when their van got stuck in the mud.
The Mercedes Sprinter loaded with old toys and other household waste was found in a country lane.
Two men were quizzed at the scene by police who confiscated the untaxed vehicle. The suspects face being handed significant fines, said police.
The officers responded to a tip-off from a member of the public who had spotted the tippers stranded in mud.
