Ferry chiefs sent message over 800 sackings

PROTESTS have erupted across the country over P&O's appalling decision to sack 800 staff without any notice.

Angry workers held rallies at ports in Dover, Liverpool and Hull yesterday.

It comes as Prime Minister Boris Johnson's spokesman said the Government was “looking very closely at whether the ferry firm had acted within the law.

And the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union is seeking legal advice to challenge the mass cull, branding it the one of the most shameful acts in the history of British industrial relations.
