BRITS bronzed on beaches and panted in parks yesterday as temperatures hit 28C.
This scene in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, was typical of seaside towns across the nation with many sun worshippers – including the one below – looking like they needed a decent dollop of lotion.
Britain’s hotspots were warmer than Ibiza’s 27C and Tenerife’s 26C.
It was just short of the hottest day of the year – June 2 when Northolt, west London, hit 28.3C.
However, forecasters reckon this could be smashed today or tomorrow.
