Trucker crisis drives rail surge

WAREHOUSE firms are spending millions on new rail links to get round a shortage of lorry drivers.

They also aim to cut their carbon footprints with each freight train estimated to take up to 80 lorries off roads.

Four major warehouse and logistics hubs being developed in England are set to have rail connections added to them.
