And the news team principal Toto Wolff has signed on for another three years means an announcement the world champion has committed his future is almost certain to follow.

The Brit’s victory at the Turkish Grand Prix brought him level with Michael Schumacher’s record of seven titles after he had already surpassed the legendary German’s number of race wins.

And now Hamilton is set to be rewarded with a new Mercedes deal, with the F1 team tweeting a picture of their star man and writing: “Announce soon.”
