Lags at HMP Stafford were handed a stash of consoles to ease their boredom during the lockdown.

The Mega Drive featured the hugely popular Sonic the Hedgehog in the 1990s.

But Sega stopped making it a decade later amid stiff competition from Nintendo. A prison worker said: “I don’t think they would have thought much of getting Sega Mega Drives.
