Football legend lan Wright was told his mum had died just 30 seconds before he was due back on air for a live TV game.

The ex-England star, 58, was told the distressing news that Nesta, 94, had passed away during half-time at Saturday's Rochdale v Plymouth Argyle FA Cup tie.

ITV presenter Mark Pougatch told millions watching that Ian had left to be with his family.
