THOUSANDS of Tartan Army fans have been scrambling to get proof of vaccination and negative tests together before the Wembley showdown with England.
FA chiefs have insisted on full proof of Covid protection for the 2700 supporters lucky enough to get briefs.
All are expected to have evidence of two vaccinations or a test done within 48 hours of kick-off – meaning many will be taking the fast lateral flow tests today and hoping for a negative result.
After London mayor Sadiq Khan doubled down on appeals for Scots to stay home, official Tartan Army guidance was for every fan to make sure they are booked into a London pub – a safe place to keep them out of trouble.
Piper Brian Roy, from Larkhall in Lanarkshire, spoke to the Record after his second vaccination.
He said: “It’s been a tight schedule for me but I want to get down there with all the regulations met and all the protections in place.
“I’ve also got a lateral flow test, so I’ll be getting that rod up my nose within 48 hours of the 8pm kick-off in Friday and I’ll be good to go.”
Brian, a delivery driver, is scheduling a trip to the William Wallace plaque at St Bart’s Hospital in central London on the morning of the match to get into the right frame of mind for the match against the Auld Enemy.
He said: “We’ll get along there and start the day with a bit of positive energy then we hope to head towards Wembley.”
