Sturgeon: Slowing Spread Is Top Priority

The First Minister will make her keynote SNP conference address today – and will urge Scots to redouble efforts to prevent the spread of Covid.

Nicola Sturgeon will use the party platform of the virtual conference to emphasise that her first priority is to steer the country safely through the winter months.

The virtual speech is expected to cover the ground on the economy and independence but Sturgeon will utilise the appearance of a new strain of the Covid virus to affirm her commitment to tackling the pandemic.
