Plenty of poor fishing trips have insult added to injury with tales of how good it’s been every other weekend of the year – so I was glad to be told that Friday and Saturday had been so much more pleasant than Sunday as I struggled fishing into a downstream wind.
I’d planned to fish nymphs on and work my way up a stretch, then stroll back down the other side.
I’d set up with a banded nymphing leader that should’ve helped pick up bites as my flies trundled along the bottom.
