THE SNP-Green coaltion government has been accused of not taking recycling seriously after figures revealed that rates have dropped.
According to data for 2020, 42 per cent of household waste in Scotland was recycled, which represents 1,020,728 tonnes of household waste recycled out of 2,429,057 tonnes produced.
Scotland is lagging behind the rest of the UK with 64.3 per cent of household waste recycled in Wales, 50.9 per cent in Northern Ireland and 44 per cent in England.
