Scotland fans were in despair yesterday as the national team lost to the Czech Republic.

Hopes were dashed as a 50-yard wonder goal from Patrik Schick sealed the win at Hampden. But Scotland boss Steve Clarke believes the team can bounce back against England on Friday.

Tartan Army down but not out as 23-year wait for top tournament ends in defeat

THE Tartan Army in Scotland’s Fan Zone were down but not out after the national team lost their first Euros match to a Patrik Schickinspired Czech Republic.

About 3000 gathered at Glasgow Green to watch on huge screens – strictly socially distanced due to Covid rules – but in classic Scotland fashion, the game ended in heartbreak.

Despite having a host of chances, the Scots were unable to put the ball in the net and went down 2-0 to the Czechs, whose star man Schick scored both the goals.

But disappointment at the result didn’t stop the fans who’d travelled to the country’s biggest city enjoying the action.
