RAINBOW favourite Freddy Marks has died, aged 71, just five years after marrying his long-term partner and former co-star Jane Tucker.
The musician and kids’ TV presenter was part of the trio that also featured Rod Burton.
Rainbow began on ITV in 1972 as Britain’s answer to US hit Sesame Street, and was watched by millions of children until it was axed in 1992.
Its three non-human stars were Bungle the oversized teddy bear, George the pink hippopotamus, and naughty puppet Zippy, whose mouth could be zipped shut.
