Terrified parents rushed to a nursery yesterday amid reports that a man had entered the building with a machete and a gun.
The alarm was raised at about 10 am when the man reportedly entered the building shared by Orchard Grove Kindergarten and Southside Boxing summer camp in Toryglen, Glasgow.
Armed police were called to the scene and quickly turned their attention to a nearby house in Crossbank Avenue.
The man is said to have walked into the building before running off into nearby woodland.
Parents were called to pick up their children after the emergency services arrived.
A woman who works at the kindergarten said: “A man turned up with a machete and a gun at about 10 am.
