PREGNANT women who eat lots of sausages, pies, biscuits and donuts could set the unborn child on the path to a heart attack, according to research.

High cholesterol in pregnancy raises the risk of cardiovascular disease in offspring by almost 40 per cent.

The increase is caused by consuming too many saturated and trans fats found in red meat and processed foods.
