Staff at a historic McVitie’s plant have been thrown a lifeline which could save hundreds of jobs.

New Factory Hope For Biscuit Workers

A new deal has been put on the table by trade union leaders in an effort to stop the plant in Tolcross, Glasgow, from being shut.

The Pladis Action Group wants to see a new factory built near the current site, which would ensure the 450 workers kept their jobs and the company owners Pladis could make efficiency savings.
