PEOPLE in Scotland under the age of 40 will no longer get the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine after blood clot fears were raised by experts.

NO ASTRA JAG FOR SCOTS UNDER 40

On April 7, the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) said the vaccine should not be given to anyone under the age of 30.

The JCVI has now extended that recommendation to include adults aged 30 to 39.

It has called on the UK Government to stop using the vaccine on under-40s. The Scottish Government said yesterday it is taking the advice on board.
