COMPUTER games tycoon Stewart Gilray died of Covid after his phobia of needles stopped him getting the jag.

Now the dad of two's widow Bec has appealed to those reluctant to get the vaccine to overcome their fears.

A COMPUTER game tycoon died of coronavirus after his phobia of needles stopped him getting the vaccine.

Now the widow of Stewart Gilray has begged Scots who are reluctant to have the jab to overcome their fears and get it done.

Dad-of-two Stewart, 51, died last week after contracting coronavirus in the middle of December.

The Aberdonian developer was considered a legend in Scotland's booming video game industry, with tributes pouring in from some of its best-known figures - including Doom creator John Romero.

Now his devastated wife Bec, 41, is pleading with people to overcome their fear of needles to avoid putting their lives at risk.

Bec told the Record: "Stewart had a serious fear of needles. In all seriousness, in 25 years, he had one blood test.
