Missing Carson Found Hiding In Granny's Loft

The mother of Carson Shephard told of her relief after her missing son was found by police hiding in his granny’s loft – after they’d searched it three times.

The seven-year-old was reported missing from the house where he lives with gran Jacquie McCartney in New Cumnock, Ayrshire, at 7.20pm on Sunday.

Now his family have dubbed him the “hide-and-seek champion” after cops found him on their fourth search of the attic.

His disappearance sparked a huge search involving sniffer dogs and helicopters, with locals joining in, looking through sheds and outbuildings for the lad.

Carson’s mum Gemma Glover told how she feared the worst before he was discovered yesterday morning.

Relieved Gemma, who lives in Glasgow, said she found out he was missing through Facebook at 11.30pm on Sunday. The worried 27-year-old raced to New Cumnock to join the hunt.

The mum-of-two said when Carson still hadn’t been found by 10am yesterday she was beside herself.
