MURDER COPS HUNT SWORD IN CEMETERY ATTACKER

DETECTIVES probing the murder of Adam Anderson are trying to track down a man who attacked a police officer with a sword.

They want to speak to the 28-year-old serial offender who swung the weapon at a police officer in a cemetery.

The constable managed to dodge the attempt and hit his attacker with his baton. The suspect was convicted following a sheriff court trial.

He has a string of convictions for drugs and other crimes including assault.

It also emerged yesterday that 22-year-old Adam may have been hit by a vehicle before he was found injured in a car park in Greenock's Ann Street on Sunday.

He was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital but died from his injuries a short time later.
